Conditions of employing an overseas maid

1. The employer should be a Hong Kong payment resident and has income in Hong Kong.

2. Documents required

i. Employer’s ID Copy.

ii. Income Proof including :
*a) Monthly salary per $15,000 with salary statements for 3 months on tax demand note. *b) A Copy of the most recent tax form. ( Annual salary over $180,000 ) *c) A bank balance of over $360,000 per 6 months. *d) The original letter of the bank, the applicant’s annual salary.

3. Address proof
Water bill or electricity bill in the latest 3 months.

4. Family members
A list of all family members slowing their English names,
date of birth and ID card numbers.

5. Letters of Guarantee
If the maid is employed on behalf of other family members,
the emploer be need to sign a letter of Guarantee to pay all the express.

6. Second maid
The employer needs to provide copy of the existing maids ID card, employment contract and passport.___________________________________________________
Employer’s concern

Maid’s salary
The minimum is HKD $ 4,310 per month incduding fee meal and accommodation.

Working placeThe maid can only worj in the place as specified in the employment contract.

Leave
Employer have to provide one day leave every week. If a maid has completed the probation period of 3 months, she is entitled to an annual leave of 12 days. (Including new year etc.) If the Maid has worked for the employer for 1 year, she will be entitled to 7days of paid annual leave.

Long Service payment
If the maid has worked for the employer for 5 years, she will be entitled to long service payment if she is terminated.

Termination of contact
The Employment contract is a 2 years contract. Earlynegotiation of renewal is recommend. If both parties agree to renew the contract, the employer is required to pay the maid’s air tickets. If renewal is not agreed, the employer has to pay the return ticket to the maid.
