ManagementM. Anthony WONG, Ph.D. Dr. Wong received his Ph.D., M. Phil., and M.A. degrees from Yale University. 

Upon graduation, Tony spent seven years as a faculty member at Massachusetts Institute of Technology in Cambridge, Massachusetts, USA, where he eventually became an Associate Professor at the Sloan School of Management. His academic publications appeared in a wide range of international journals, and Dr. Wong’s contribution was acknowledged by its fellow researchers by his inclusion in Who’s Who in Medicine in the mid-1980s. Tony, however, left his academic career and later became a widely known quantitative financial expert on Wall Street by the early 1990s, after he has two financial books published by John Wiley & Sons. During his capital markets career, the global financial institutions Tony has worked for included Salomon Brothers, Greenwich Capital Markets, Greenwich Asset Management, Long Term Credit Bank of Japan, and Bank of Tokyo. 

 

In the early 1990s, Dr. Wong went to China and was a founder of Springfield Financial Advisory Service in Beijing. He has since done extensive consulting work for various government agencies and state-owned enterprises in China, including, in chronological order, the Ministry of Finance, China Union Pay, Ministry of Culture, CITIC Group, All-in-Pay Network Services, and China Telecom. Tony left the Springfield Group and started his entrepreneurial career in the mid-1990s, and among other business interests, he currently runs the privately-owned Dragon Pledge Ltd. in Hong Kong. 

 

The financial advisory services that his companies now provide to his corporate clients remain focused on the global capital markets where Tony has accumulated over 25 years of invaluable experience. Some of his recent listed-company-clients include China Mobile Games & Entertainment Group Limited (a NASDAQ-listed mobile phone games operator with operations in 75 countries), Bona Film Group Ltd. (a NASDAQ-listed film distributor in China), Sino Gas International Holdings Inc. (a Chinese natural gas company whose shares are traded on the OTC-BB), Sunlink International Holdings Limited (a HKSE-listed semiconductor firm), and China Infrastructure Investment Ltd. (a HKSE-listed infrastructure investment firm).
